Gardening

It's spring! Time to share your gardening tips, secrets, and current projects...all month long!

From left to right and top to bottom:

A small tomato plant with accompanying basil. A line of potatoes doing decently well, and the cucumber planter in the distance. Shallots, garlic, and some spinach plants planted together in a separate bed. My satsuma tree that I recently trimmed is bursting with new buds. My indoor plant station, complete with sprouts that will hopefully be planted in due time!

I really haven't done much gardening yet this year, but we did plant three crepe myrtles in our back yard to help hide our neighbor's sheds. I plan to landscape around them soon and maybe add some azaleas or flowers of some sort:

See the scraggly bushes behind the beautiful flowers in this photo?

I have plans to rip out the bushes--which are gardenias that have succumbed to a fungus--and replant with bottle brush trees. I'm going to try to complete that project soon because they are so unsightly!
