Crack Green Beans
Ingredients:
4 cans green beans
6 slices of thick bacon, cooked and chopped
1/2 a medium onion, diced and caramelized
2 cups chicken stock
1/2 cup brown sugar (or more if desired)
2 Tbsp soy sauce
Black pepper to taste
Instructions:
Set large crockpot to a medium heat setting. Include all ingredients and stir periodically. Cook for about 4 hours.
Alternative cooking option: Set oven to 350. Stir all ingredients into a large baking dish and cook for about 45 minutes or until desired temperature is reached. Cover with aluminum foil. Do not broil.
My Mom's (and Grandma's) Cranberry Relish
1 package Raspberry Jello
1 cup boiling water
1 cup sugar (I try to use less)
2 cups of chopped apples
1 cup chopped walnuts (or pecans)
4 cups fresh cranberries, diced in food processor
