2. Make a Search Plan
Preparation is the key to successful searching. Follow the steps below to create a search plan.
- Conduct preliminary research on your topic to ensure there is enough information available.
- Identify the best sources for the information you need and determine where to search. (If using sources from the internet, be sure and evaluate them carefully for credibility.)
- Select your keywords, or search terms, that can be used to search for your information.
- Decide what search strategies you can apply to your searches to retrieve the best results.
