Searching using database subject terms allows you to hone in on all relevant research with one search term or phrase.
Within many library databases, you will find a subject terms or thesaurus tool. These tools allow you to explore the specialized vocabulary that has been used to categorize and “tag” each article according to the topics the article addresses. Use subject terms when you only want results specific and relevant to your topic.
Subject terms can also be found in your search results—either within the results list or on the article record page. When you are searching, look at the subject terms listed for articles and use the ones related to your topic as keywords in your own searches.
