An international consortium of educational institutions focused on the adoption, creation, use, dissemination, and preservation of electronic theses and dissertations (ETDs) through open access to scholarship. Coverage is varied, but is greater after 1995.
If you still want to search outside our subscription to PQDT A&I, you may find mention of a relevant dissertation or theses in ProQuest Dissertation Express PQDT Dissertation Express. The free index is limited and basic but you can search with limited key words, author, etc. If you find one, or the one you are looking for, you can order and pay for it from this page. The overwhelming majority of online dissertation content is only available through commercial vendors for a fee.
PQDT Open provides open access dissertations and theses free of charge. You can quickly and easily locate dissertations and theses relevant to your discipline and view the complete text in PDF format. The authors of these dissertations and theses have opted to publish as open access. Open Access Publishing is a new service offered by ProQuest's UMI Dissertation Publishing, and we expect to have many more open access dissertations and theses over time.
