The Research Process of Information Literacy

Once you have your results list from your search, how do you know which sources are appropriate to use for your assignment? 

First, refer back to your assignment instructions and review the assignment's requirements. Next, examine your results list to identify and select information that possesses the following characteristics:

• Comes from a suitable, credible source (Watch the video and see the handout below for help determining if a source is credible.)
• Supports your writing purpose
• Meets all criteria for your assignment
