The Research Process of Information Literacy

Determine Where to Search

Navigating the wealth of information available to find resources for your assignments may seem intimidating at first, but once you determine where best to search for your topic, it can make finding the information you need much easier.

Library Sources

If you are required to use resources from the library, you may be wondering how to decide which databases to use for your research.

For articles, look for a library database that matches your research topic. You can find an alphabetical list of all of the library's databases and their descriptions here. For recommended databases related to your topic, please see the subject or course research guide related to your course. You may find the library's research guides at the bottom of the library home page.

For e-books, search the library's e-books here.

Internet Sources

If you may use the Internet for your research, look for resources that come from government, education, professional/trade or non-profit websites.

For recommended websites related to your topic or course, please see the library's subject or course research guides. You may find the library's research guides at the bottom of the library home page.
