CSU Library Training Guide

Start Here

We are glad that you are here! Working through this training guide is your first task in your new role as a CSU librarian!

This training guide is designed to provide you with information about CSU and the CSU Library. The major aspects of this guide include:

  • Units I-V - introduce you to our internal processes and culture.
  • Employee Resources - includes links to helpful resources, VPN set-up procedures, Ring Central set-up procedures, and Outlook set-up procedures.
  • Student Resources - includes links to helpful student support phone numbers as well as links to student resources including the Writing Center, the Bookstore, and Technical Support.
  • Librarian Resources - includes an overview of the library and a full list of library processes and procedures.

How to Use This Guide

  1. Begin by reviewing the training checklist; you will be covering all of the topics listed here during your training period. Keep this checklist handy when meeting with the Dean of Library and the individual librarians for training.
  2. Next, set up your devices and accounts, including VPNRing Central, and Outlook.
  3. Complete Units I-V.
  4. Finally, review the last three sections of this guide. These sections act as stand-alone resources that you can access at any time while working at CSU.
